Dr. Humes obtained his degree in Medicine from  the University of the West Indies in 2008 with Honors. He completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of the West Indies in 2016 and has been a practicing General Surgeon in the Bahama since January 2017.  In July 2019 he completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery in Indore, India under the tutelage of Dr. Mohit Bhandari and Professor MAL Fobi. (Former President of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery). Dr. Humes is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the International Federation for Surgery of Obesity. He is currently a Consultant Surgeon at the Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Grand Bahama. When Dr. Humes is not in the operating room or seeing patients he is spending time with his beautiful wife of ten years and his children, going fishing or to church.
