Dr. K. Neil Parker is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine. He completed his medical training at The University of the West Indies (UWI) in Kingston, Jamaica. Dr. Parker completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship training in Rheumatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Rheumatology, a subspecialty of internal medicine focuses on inflammatory disorders and joint disease. These include conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, Scleroderma, Psoriatic Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (Lupus) among others.
These disorders are chronic and lead to damage of the joints and other tissues of the body. If not properly managed, these conditions may cause significant pain and disability resulting in reduced quality of life.
Dr. Parker has a long-standing interest in rheumatological disorders. He looks forward to advancing the field of Rheumatology in The Bahamas.
