Dr. Diedre Nelson-Sands hails from the beautiful country of Jamaica. She attended the University of the West Indies between 2001 & 2004, where she pursued a double major in Chemistry and Zoology (upper second class honors). In 2005, she went on to establish a medical career by enrolling in the medical program at the University of the West indies. She graduated in 2010 and completed internship at the Princess Margaret Hospital. She then went on to practice Internal Medicine at the Rand Memorial Hospital for 5 ½ years.

Dr. Nelson-Sands now holds a Master of Science Degree (Distinction) in Clinical Dermatology from Cardiff University in Wales, UK, after leaving the Rand in 2016 to further her studies. She also obtained a diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in 2017.

Her hobbies include reading, baking and playing classical piano. Due to her love and passion for music, she completed training (grade 8) with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

Dr. Nelson-Sands currently offers General Practice services, along with Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology.
